Touring Coastal Karnataka

After Travelling Through Hoysala Empire and Western Ghats for two days we reached Mangalore around 4 PM on Day 2 . After a quick break and refreshments ,we hit the road towards Mangalore beach .We reached the Mangalore beach around 5:30 PM  and spent time there and had good view of the sun sinking into the Arabian Sea .We reached hotel from there , had a good dinner with Mangalore fish curry and called it a day..

Day 3 Started with early morning visit to the Mangala Devi temple on whose the city Mangalore was named after and then visited Gokarnanatheshwara temple . After the darshan there, started the journey to Udupi .

We reached Udupi around 1 PM and finished lunch there and went to Maple beach from there.We went on the boat ride to St. Mary Island. Legend says it was first discovered by “Vasco da gama” .

Its must visit place for the people who are touring coastal Karnataka . The unique thing of the beach on the island is the shore is made up of sea shells instead of sand .These are some snaps of the shore ,it may look like sand but if you zoom the snaps you can clearly see, what the shore is made up of….

From there we went back to our hotel room for refreshment and went to the Udupi Sri Krishna temple for the darshan. It was very crowded , so we didn’t get the darshan on the day , so we had dinner near the temple and returned back to the hotel.

On Day 4 , we went back to the temple around 8 AM and had darshan of Sri Krishna ..

Then started the journey towards Murudeswar . On the way to Murudeswar we stopped at Anegudde and had darshan of the Vinayaka and continued the journey to reach Murudeswar .

We reached Murudeswar around 1:30 PM , after lunch and break for some time ,we visited the temple and had the darshan of Murudeswara,  After darshan we spent some time in the park and the beach near the temple. The view of the Raja Gopura and the Shiva statue is sublime at the sunset, under the lights and in the early morning . As the hotel room is near to the temple we had the view of the temple under all these conditions.

On Day 5 , after the early morning temple visit and breakfast around 8 AM ,we started the journey to Bangalore .With some minor breaks for lunch and snacks in the evening ,we reached home around 9 PM..
